Metafolin Approved in the EU
Merck Eprova AG, Schaffhausen, Switzer­land, has announced that Meta­folin, its patented form of folate, has been approved in the EU for use in food supplements (dietary supplements) and foods for particular nutritional uses (dietetic foods). Metafolin (calcium L-methylfolate) belongs to the group of folate vitamins that the human body must obtain from the diet. Merck Eprova’s Metafolin can be used by the body without further metabolic transformation.
